Tony’s CV

Tony Fitzpatrick has worked across broadcast marketing, media and digital technology for more than forty years, building, launching and scaling media brands in the UK and internationally. Tony is also now the co-founder of Business111.com, a UK-focused digital platform created to support micro and small businesses by bringing together trusted information, expert insight and practical tools in one place

He has been responsible for, or closely involved in, many of the most significant broadcast channel launches in Europe over the past two decades. His experience spans television, radio and digital platforms, from the launch of CNN International across Europe to senior advisory roles on a range of digital media initiatives. He has worked extensively with broadcasters including BSkyB, UKTV, the BBC and ITV, and played a central role in the UK launches of Kiss FM and Jazz FM.

Tony began his career in marketing with Saatchi & Saatchi before becoming European Managing Director of Rogers & Cowan International. He later formed his own production-to-marketing services group, The Entertainment Partnership, selling his share of the business in December 1995.

In 1995 he founded TF Associates, a specialist brand marketing consultancy, and went on to spearhead the development of a wide range of brands across the food, lifestyle and media sectors.

One of the businesses developed within TF Associates was The Media Medical Agency, a pioneering health-content agency that transformed the way health news was delivered to the medical profession. In 1999, the business was sold to Health Media Group plc. Tony became Chief Executive Officer of the enlarged group and led a fundraising programme that raised more than £6 million. He subsequently took the company to AIM in August 2001 with a valuation of £40 million and oversaw the acquisition of several businesses, including Isis Publishing and Media Medics. He stepped down from the group in 2002, retaining a shareholding and returning to TF Associates full time.

In 2006, Tony sold TF Associates to a colleague and founded PeopleMatterTV, a media and talent business representing and managing the careers of distinctive journalists, presenters and creative professionals. Through PeopleMatterTV, he has combined entrepreneurship with the specialist expertise of his clients, working closely with contemporary editors, broadcasters and content commissioners.

He brings deep knowledge of terrestrial, satellite, streaming and digital broadcasting, alongside long-standing relationships across traditional and emerging media. His work has consistently focused on bridging the gap between established broadcast platforms and new digital technologies, forging partnerships and creating commercially sustainable media ventures.

Tony has been directly responsible for, or led strategic work on, major initiatives including:

  • the launch of CNN International across Europe
  • CNN’s relaunch on Astra
  • the relaunch of Superchannel
  • the launch of Good Morning with Anne and Nick and The Morning on BBC One
  • the UK launches of Kiss FM and Jazz FM
  • political lobbying for TV-am and Channel Four
  • the review and development of a BFI-wide restructuring of the National Film Theatre

He is proud to represent distinctive journalistic and broadcasting talent and remains actively engaged with editors and decision-makers across news, current affairs and feature content.
